Book #1, Deathless
Words cannot explain how much I loved this book! It took me a bit to get through because of life things, but it haunted me until I was able to finish it! I can’t wait to pick up the second one. Look for this review in the next few weeks!
Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen
Lost Lake felt different from all of Allen’s other books. Transparently, it’s not my favorite. As someone who loves Sarah Addison Allen, this book didn’t quite hit the spot. There were a lot of moving parts and a lot of history with the characters, and it felt a bit busy. I had a hard time settling into this world and connecting with the story at large. As always, her writing was beautiful, and the story did leave me with the warm fuzzies. I just don’t know that I would recommend this book to someone I was trying to introduce to this author to get them hooked.
The Alpha’s Resurrection by Marlowe Roy
Book #3, AfterEnd Series
This was my first omega-verse book and I have to be honest, I was quite surprised. I have heard a lot of unfavorable things about the genre—specifically that its a genre rife with non/dub-con, toxic masculinity and toxic relationships/power-dynamics. I was a bit nervous diving into this story, but I wanted to give it a go. I will say that Roy did an excellent job writing in this genre without giving into the unsavory pitfalls that seem to make this genre so big. I’m looking forward to writing a deep-dive review.
Keagan by Remy Fisher
Book #1, Beckett Brothers Ranch
Full transparency, I adore Remy as a human, so, needless to say, I love everything she writes. That all being said, I do think that this deserves five-stars. This is the ideal palette cleanser read for someone who wants a quick, sweet, slightly spicy, guaranteed happily ever after! Keagan just launched YESTERDAY (August 27th, 2023), so definitely go check it out and give it some love!
