I’m a writer who doesn’t have the faintest idea of how to write an introductory blog post.
I read another blog that instructed me to start with an interesting fact. I don’t really know how that’s relevant to the content I’ll be writing, but here goes: snails can take naps that last up to three years.
Sometimes I feel like I was done a gross disservice by not being born a snail. For that reason alone.
Unfortunately, no, this blog will not be about the aforementioned slippery-slimy creatures. It, instead, will be about writing. More specifically, about romance. Or maybe just about writing a novel. Or a series… You know, I haven’t decided quite yet! But, it’s safe to say that I will be writing about writing.
All things considered, that introduction was substantially more awkward than just saying what I would be discussing.
So, allow me to try again. My name is Ivy Whitaker and I’m a long time romance lover, freshly turned novelist. I have recently published my first romance novel, the paranormal romance, “Home Sweet Hell” and hope to continue to write many more! I’ve been described as a “human squeaker toy”, meaning that I can go from zero to pterodactyl at the sight of anything adorable. Or so unfortunate-looking my wires get crossed. I love all things coffee related (yes, I made it a personality trait, I know). Sloths are the most precious creatures to ever be created and I refuse to be told otherwise. Blueberries are the best berries and I’m generally keen to barf rainbows and offer aggressive support and affection.
Now that you know a little bit more about me, let me explain my intentions with “Neurotic Natterings”. In this blog, I will be sharing the tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way. Chiefly in storyboarding, storytelling and character creation. I promise, it’ll be much less stuffy than I’m making it sound. I’ll likely share some personal stuff. Who knows, maybe I’ll share some writing here, as well!
My hope is to eventually begin reviewing other romance novels. This is, ultimately, contingent on scheduling – I want to be able to commit to a solid schedule before introducing new elements.
Anyway, if you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time to get to know me! I’m looking forward to getting to know you as well! Feel free to leave me a comment and sign up for updates on the blog!
The way you write reminds me of my best friend 😅 im looking forward to seeing more!

Awkward or not, that was a fantastically interesting and funny intro post. I too love coffee and can relate to it being a personality trait — what are we without our coffee? I do NOT want to know. Thanks for letting us get to know you. 😉

I like to think that we’re gelatinous-sleep-flubber that lacks a solid form until it reaches the coffee pot or goes back to bed! Thank you for the comment and thank you for reading! ❤
