Hello there, friendship!

For those of you who have been tuning in for the last three weeks for updates on “Grim Tide“, first and foremost, thank you. The fact that you want to read my stories is amazing and fills me with a profound sense of joy.

I don’t know how else to go about saying this, so I’ll just be blunt. In publishing “Grim Tide” to Vella, I made a boo-boo. I didn’t realize it at the time, but the same exclusivity rights KDP has for ebooks and other materials extend to Vella. The moment I hit ‘publish’, I set everything into motion. My grand plans of having “Grim Tide” exist as a blog exclusive book were smashed to bits before I could even get past the first episode.

I’m more than a little miffed at myself. I should have done a bit more digging. Especially since, I realized too little too late, that Vella is a US exclusive program. I’m sorry for that. I have no excuse beyond my own excitement and magpie-esque personality. I saw something new, something shiny, and I wanted to give it a try.

Obviously, I cannot post past the first three chapters on this blog. Which is why I’ve already started writing another book. An actual blog-exclusive book.

I will be posting teaser stuff over the next few weeks to get you introduced to the new world and to the characters. I’m going to use this time get ahead of the writing schedule, so I can guarantee a new chapter every Friday. I don’t have a working title, just yet, but feel free to follow me on Instagram for more regular updates!

As far as “Grim Tide”, I intend to finish publishing it on Vella. According to their FAQ, after the final episode, I have to allow it to stay up for a month before I can publish it as a book. I know it’s not what I promised, and I’m so very sorry that I didn’t do my proper due diligence before committing that particular story to Vella.

I hope, if nothing else, you enjoy the story I’ve concocted! I’ve already begun working on it and I’m in love. I’m hoping you all feel the same.
