Restrained Desires by Katherine McIntyre (due to be published on April 8th, 2022) is the third installment of the Rehoboth Pact Series. And coincidentally, the first thing I’ve ever read from this author.
When I first heard about this book, it was marketed as a lesbian BDSM book. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t willing to throw some loved ones into traffic to get onto this ARC team. I didn’t — I didn’t have to, fortunately — but I probably would have.
No, you know what? Having read the book? I definitely would have.
Kyle Walker is the living, breathing embodiment of social anxiety. She is a bit awkward, a bit socially maladjusted, and entirely into her best friend’s (straight) sister. Who, by the way, just so happens to be freshly divorced. Or rather, on the way there. Chelsea Moore survived the douche-nozzliest nozzle to ever nozzle and is fresh on the dating scene. It starts off innocent enough — a fake relationship to sell Kyle’s sexuality to a family that insists on invalidating her. But it ends up being so much more when they realize their chemistry — their interests — line up a little too well.
l loved. This. Book. Loved it. I loved the writing, I loved the characters, I loved the tension, the drama. It made me swoon. It made me laugh. It made my heart hurt. Katherine McIntyre really did a wonderful job with this book, and I’m so looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
