Hello, friends!
Riding the coattails of one of my earlier blogs, My Reading Year in Review, I figured it might be fun to start sharing reading updates! I don’t know if this is something I will continue to do, but I thought it might be fun to give a try! More importantly, during my busy months, it will hold me accountable to get some reading done.
Unfortunately, this month has been one of those months. My fur-child has been having some medical issues, which has been devouring most of my time. Don’t worry! Everything is fine! She’s just getting up there in years, and her body is falling apart. I can relate.
What I’ve Read Thus Far!
Hollow Heathens by Nicole Fiorina
Normally when I see a book that has been this hyped, I prepare for some level of disappointment. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Hollow Heathens. Not only can I not wait to write this review, but I can’t wait for the next book!
Book of Night by Holly Black
Again, I was nervous coming into this book. And, again, I found myself quite pleasantly surprised. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, though there were parts I felt were lagging/paced slower than I would have liked. The lore was absolutely fascinating. I am unsure if this is intended to be a duet or a series. Regardless, I have every intention of picking up the next book when/if it comes out!
Knotted by Adrian Page
I first stumbled across this book while reading for Reading the Rainbow Reviews this past June. It wound up on my to-be-read list on sight. When the author reached out to me to read/review Knotted, it was an immediate yes. For those of you who love contemporary romance lesbian fiction, this is a stunning book. I have every intention of reading the rest. Stay tuned to know my full thoughts on Knotted!
Death Masks by Jim Butcher

This is a re-read for me. I fell in love with this series long ago and have been hankering for something nostalgic. I’ve been catching up on The Dresden Files between other reads when I have the time. To be honest, I picked this one up and put it down more than a few times. I remember not being the biggest fan of this book when I first read it, and unfortunately, those feelings still remain true. Not to mention, some of its contents did not age well over time.

What I Would Like To Read
My Unexpected Love by Alison Post
I am super excited to be reading another Bookstagram friend’s work! I have been itching to get into this for a few months or so, now! Enemies-to-lovers has been on my mind lately!
The Price of Payback by S.W. Andersen
Back in June, I read the first installment of the Sarah Sawyer series by S.W. Andersen. I am greatly looking forward to diving back into this lesbian western series!
